when i was younger i wasnt the best behaved. i broke the only trophy my mother ever won (a participation trophy) on christmas eve. my parents were furious with how i had acted over the previous few weeks so i was forced to pack up all my things and i was told i was going to the orphanage. i packed up my stuff, said goodbye to my brother and sister and my father drove me to an old hotel where we unloaded my stuff and he said "when they open up the door in the morning tell them your parents left you" and he drove away. he came right back and got me, i was freaked out. I was 6. not really the worst gift but for sure a crazy Christmas story. my parents dont even like me to bring it up anymore-they feel bad about it to this day.

so I'm costarican and down here you are supposed to like soccer and have a local favorite team, so usually the team your dad roots for. Having said that, I'm not a fan of local soccer and barely follow international soccer (national team or european), the first Xmas I spent with my daughter's mom (already 6 month in the relationship) she decided that the Saprissa Jersey personalized with my name and my number was the greatest Xmas gift I could get....needless to say she spent Xmas crying cause I just couldn't hide the disappointment on my face, man we have been in a relationship for 6 months, she knows that I like and play basketball and that I like football (NFL) yet she gets me that crap, worst gift ever, ahve never wear it and ended up giving it away

haha, yeah its a crazy story to tell now, very traumatizing at that age. my parents are so embarrassed whenever we bring it up, which is of course at the holidays since it was Christmas eve. sometimes in parenting i guess you try to teach a lesson but can go a little further than expected.

Clothes were the worst gift as a child and still are as an adult. 99% of the clothes I've been given as gifts are still sitting in my closet with the tags on.

To skins85 -

Are you kidding me, you have the story of a lifetime and one that you can pass down and for generations to come. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

I drive a friend of my daughter home on Mondays from school. The father gave me a Starbucks gift card. I check the balance and it had $15.41 left on it. I got an used giftcard
